Linear Potentiometer for obp Motorsport Pedal Systems.
Drive by Wire, or commonly simply known as DBW, is a term that refers to a number of electronic systems that replace traditional mechanical controls.
The most common Drive-By-Wire technology is with electronic throttle control. Unlike traditional mechanical controls that operate the throttle pedal, these systems use a series of electronic sensors which are sent to the ECU when the pedal is pressed.
With an increased presence of modern race cars having DBW Throttle pedals, a sensor is needed in order to convert the obp pedal box to a DBW Pedal box. You just need to simply remove the linkage that is installed behind the pedal before replacing it with the linear potentiometer that mounts behind the pedal arm and to the base box itself.
The obp Linear Dual Core Potentiometer is a heavy duty sensor that is perfect for motorsport use that undergoes a lot of cycles.
Technical Specification:
Maximum Supply Voltage: 40 VDC
Resolution: Infinite
Repeatability: ≤0.01mm
Operational Speed: 10 m/s
Mechanical Life: > 25 Million Cycles
Recommended Wiper Current: < 10μA
Independent Linearity: ≤ +/- 0.5%
Connection & Output Details: 6 Core Cable
Track 1
Red = +V
Black = 0V
Yellow = Signal
Track 2
Brown = +V
Blue = 0V
White = Signal
Displacement
Fully Closed = +Vmax
Fully Open = 0V
The displacement signals may be reversed by swapping the connections to the Red & Black wires or Brown & Blue wires, providing +Vmax output when Full Open & 0V when fully closed.
DO NOT connect +V supply to the Yellow and White (signal) wires, as this may cause damage to the sensor element.
